Oklahoma Board for the Arts & Music
OBAM is an entity of T.A.P Collaborative Inc, a 501 C3 organization
Over the next 25 years, OBAM will work hard to form member associations that will build and garner up an enormous amount of experience so that we may be able to help develop our Youth in the Arts & Music genre. In this part of our website you will find more information about OBAM, its Activities and its festivals.
The festival entitled the Oklahoma Black Music Festival takes place every year in July in Oklahoma City. In 2020 the first festival will occur. Due to this pandemic this years event may take place on Labor Day Weekend.
It will be a unique showcase of the diversity of the Arts and Music culture in Oklahoma. Our hopes is to bring together around 6000 people to enjoy music and art. Also, we hill help our young musicians to perform on the day of the festival. The musical styles ranged from classical to pop, from folklore to Jazz, Hip Hop, R&B, and Praise music with everything in between and much more.
The Oklahoma Black Music Festival, along with the Artists Pavilion, hopes to encourage, train and develop youth music throughout the US for festivals like ours so that that can display their full liveliness of the diversity of their musical traditions and talent. We eventually plan to collaborate with other countries, making it a true demonstration of unity when young musicians from a multitude of different countries join in to speak in the common language that is music.
Course instructors vary based on professional teachers availability.
